Talk about your smoking gun. When urged by the president and the National Hurricane Director to act while there was still time. They failed to act in a timely manner, specifically addressing the needs of those unable to evacuate on their own. This inaction may directly have cost lives. I wonder if a case of depraved indifference could be brought upon Governor Blanco and others for their inaction in the face of such a clearly defined and documented threat. Mayor Nagin could have asked for white chariots to come and ride his citizens to safety. Find me one person who agreed with the mayor and would have rather stayed behind to take their chances with a Cat 4-5 hurricane than to evacuate in a school bus. It might be unprecedented, but Americans are sure angry enough about this. . . Does anyone know the criteria necessary for bringing about a case of depraved indifference? Rande Is
