exactly, i don't remember jet being a problem two or three years ago... air lines are usually a pre buy or check up front business with oil companies.

i doubt any shortages of jet since it is a by product of refining crude. make jet or diesel, basically as i remember jet was a rebrand of kero and then processed through clay filters at terminals to make sure no water was suspended in the product. this stuff is checked several times before loading into air craft.

reviewing all the ask jeeves articles on jet shortages it appears a distribution problem. lines to airports too small to handle increased demand, storage capacity too small. I remember back in late 70's logan at boston was a mad house to keep the comingled products in storage. Those tanks were never idle even to take a physical inventory. Auditors wrote up the process several times that inventories couldn't be validated due to churn of product at airport. couldn't drop a tape into the tank with product moving around. g
