I talked to a man who is a well-known scientist and doctor in the field of immunology. My memory is not exact--but he said that the poisons in the water in New Orleans would include powerful chemicals from chemical plants there, which are completely toxic to a human being gas and oil, which are toxic if swallowed--and also highly toxic if they contact the skin e coli bacteria (and several others which I can't remember) from the dead bodies and sewage. He said any person having contact with that water should wash themselves thoroughly as soon as possible. He said if a rescue worker or civilian had the slightest cut on their skin, any contact with that water would result in severe poisoning of the system and possible death. He has worked his whole life with toxins to the human body--and the body's ability to fight and overcome them. He shook his head as he talked about the "poisons" in the water in New Orleans.
