Question....Who is the 'They".....? And where did "They" move "them" ..... >>>> They moved the people out of the city where it was unsafe to the outer areas to be serviced by the Red Cross rather than have the Red Cross go into the city and delay further evacuation. <<<<<

The people I saw moving, were the ones who were moving themselves....And they were going out of the city. I didn't see any tent cities being formed anyplace...did you?

Funny, I was just thinking of that, and wondered if that wasn't part of the problem.

The whole area had warning of a huge storm coming. A Cat 4 or 5 possibly. It's hard to know where the storm is going to hit, but the forecasters are getting it more often right than wrong as far as the path is concerned.

For the future, could large areas be set aside for refuge for a few days so that people could come in, HOPEFULLY each one with a pup tent that would be easy to set up, a sleeping bag for each person with them, and water they could bring.

Small tents aren't expensive. Sleeping bags aren't either unless one needs one for Alaska. Water when available before a disaster is not expensive, just bulky. But could be carried in cars.

The $2000 the government is giving the victims could be used in part for a tent and sleeping bag to use until they could find a place.

Wonder if people think like this any more. Or are we all destined to just stand around, and wonder where and who will next do something to get us out of the fix we're in....

The little 6 year old boy with the toddlers and baby in tow is a SUPREME example of a "can do attitude" for all of us....or should be.
