No, that was not my meaning, although it read that way.

The point is that within about a 7-8 day period beginning the day before the storm, an entire city of 1.25 million was evacuated -- literally, down to those who were either dead or unwilling. Well over ten thousand of whom were plucked from rooftops one at a time or pulled out by boat. Tens of thousands were airlifted from several sites around the city. Meanwhile, needed supplies were dropped, although some belatedly, to people at various sites.

Its amazing.........he comes on this thread telling everyone else that they don't have it right, and the guy doesn't even have the basic facts straight. Tell me again how you handle dealing in a regressive culture?
