I think the statement, ie the crack, he made illustrated his precise degree of concern for the poor. But maybe he's just a deadened individual who thinks that death and destruction and pain and fear and violent criminals on the rampage is a good place to start addressing the problems of extreme poverty and 40% illiteracy.

Didn't see the Hitchens interview. I think he got kind of trapped early on, and has too much pride to do more than very gradually disassociate or distance himself from the Republicans, this administration, and the RW agenda for America. But I don't know for sure, of course. I'll PM you some things when I get home.

Turning this off, should have been asleep an hour ago.
