El Mat - the return to 'natural size' - don't get your hopes up that this will happen too soon...most major powers have made efforts to lock in their positions.

For example, the US has bases or ownership in Guam, Samoa, Diego Garcia, Greenland, Puerto Rico (expensive !), Japan and olther places.

I expect China to be able to acquire a few overseas bases, and India maybe one or two.

But they will still be a long way back from where the US is, or the UK was.
