The US Marshall, a good ol' slow talking Georgia boy-- who accompanied us had served a warrant in NO the day before. It involved a case concerning a 19 year old, drugs, jealousy, and a decapitation. Only the nastiest cases are being handled now, the US Marshalls are performing mostly security work. They are armed to the teeth; this fellow had an M16 and three hand guns, two strapped to his ankles. He said things were "rough" in the first few days after the storm but did not provide too much detail.
