Love the story about your little sister. :)

But the NOLA situation doesn't seem quite as clear cut as your family's.

This isn't an either/or proposition; it's a failure of an entire system for many reasons on a lot of levels and over a long period of time. It should be examined holistically, looking for where the connections and relationships collapsed and not start by concentrating on only one branch.

(Personally I hate the idea of another commission. I think we waste an incredible amount of time and money and resources on them with little to show but a lot of political grandstanding and posturing.)

Back in the sixties, we used to joke that just because you are paranoid does not mean there aren't people coming to get you.

I guess a corollary would be that just because there are people out to get you is no reason to be paranoid! ;-)
