Actually, I like this article better than the previous. The guy cooled down, and I think he is making his case better this time. Analogies - like the one he points out with the 1987 chart - seldom work, but who knows. The analogy is pretty close, as far as I can see... Maybe it does reflect a similar dynamic in the public mood. Hard to comment about such things without feeling sort of foolish... but I think McHugh is presenting something which does deserve to be kept... well, at the back burner.
