In watching the welcoming of the evacuees at Cape Cod,

philly political thread this morning one commentator used cape cod as an example of where no one would ever have been left behind with a storm coming. The subject was on race issue and those people being left to fend for themselves. His point was cape cod too much influence and money to ever let that happen to them... so not race but perhaps wealth?

i wonder , we have a different situation on cape cod. most have their own transportation, although only a couple of roads in and out it used to be straight shot back to Boston or west to Rhode Island fall river without any traffic lights and open highways. How about congestion ? surely you cannot drive and get anywhere during the day time on the cape but what is true population on cape cod versus new orleans.

so we have , i believe writer for phlly inquirer bringing up wealth issue to get rescued vs race.

>> I think that when one believes that a racial group can only rise from poverty through greater and greater amounts of GOVERNMENT largesse, it is unwitting racism. I see such attitudes as a form of noblesse oblige, that the smarter and more capable of society must support those lacking the qualities to rise and prosper on their own.<<

When someone from government says: "I'm here to help you" - please translate. What he or she is really saying is: "I'm here to CONTROL you."

"The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life"

Three guesses as to which color the "favored" ones were?

T.H Huxley wrote;
"It may be quite true that some negroes are better than some white men; but no rational man, cognisant of the facts, believes that the average negro is the equal, still [67] less the superior, of the average white man. And, if this be true, it is simply incredible that, when all his disabilities are removed, and our prognathous relative has a fair field and no favour, as well as no oppressor, he will be able to compete successfully with his bigger-brained and smaller-jawed rival, in a contest which is to be carried on by thoughts and not by bites. The highest places in the hierarchy of civilisation will assuredly not be within the reach of our dusky cousins, though it is by no means necessary that they should be restricted to the lowest."

That does not mean that all Darwinists are racists, but the Darwinian worldview is not inconsistent with racism either.
