TP, The country is rapidly moving from the constitutional goal to promote the common welfare into some sort of enforcement mechanism for oligarchy. You see, the Constitution was all about protecting individual rights. The "promotion of the common welfare" didn't become a long-term goal until FDR's New Deal, and only because of the Great Depression. We're long past the Great Depression, yet the New Deal legislation remains and continues to be a major cause of government bloat. Nothing wrong with a balancing act between freedom and collective government. Only I prefer erring on the side of freedom. Tenchusatsu
