Orca, I did follow the link before I posted. The contract is near about a year old. It was bid competitively. There is no case here, IMHO.

It is clearly a conflict of interest for Cheney's company to bid on these contracts, Cheney is still die monies from Halliburton. So that is a different story. HOw they came to bid so low (I am assuming that they did not have inside info on competitors' bids)

Bit that does not absolve Bush's excuse for ineptitude. He was vacationing and playing politics (fundraising) while the storm was approaching. Whereas Clinton cut short his trip to NZ when a storm of a lesser magnitude was approaching the shores of the US. Clinton was a very proactive President. We don't need to talk about Bush on this issue.
