That is just plain foolishness. had Katrina HIT NO's dead on as was originally projected, instead of Mississippi then THEY would have been VICTIMS too. You dont put your RECOVERY team in the path of danger if you want to HAVE a recovery team.
Secondly, if by the FEDS you mean the military, you of ALL PEOPLE ought to know that because of the Insurrection Act they CANNOT go in without the Govenors specific request, OR an ACT OF CONGRESS. Now would you like to CHANGE that law, design to PROTECT THE CITIZENS from a military takeover? Finally, if by the FEDS you mean FEMA. FEMA is NOT a recovery TEAM. There are only about 2,500 employees in ALL of FEMA. Fema is designed to aid in seeing that GOODS needed and MONIES needed to rebuild are made available, its the LOCAL CITIZENS including all the govt services, like police and fire, supplemented by the National Guard that GENERALLY are the entire recovery team. Because of the SCOPE of this disaster LARGER THEN GREAT BRITIAN IN AREA that the US military is also needed. jdn

kenneth your proffer is mentally retarded. Clearly you have no concept of the power of nature and that one nevers would send resources to places that could be isolated by the fury of the storm. The only question is, Is this latest statement the stupidest thing you have ever said? I doubt it.
