I don't know what this has to do with my post, but it is definately a biased piece.

With the popularity of Congress and President Bush sagging before the crisis, many officials said Bush and lawmakers made their situation worse by pointing fingers and digressing into political warfare with rescue operations still underway.

When did Bush point fingers? Seems to me it was the NO mayor and LA governor who pointed fingers at the Federal government, when they had not put in any requests for help, and even hindered help from the Red Cross and FEMA. Florida did this during Hurricane Andrew also, they failed to put in paperwork for FEMA aid for four days after the storm. Pretty easy to write papers and forms and Fax it. Fortunately they did not hinder aid from others, and thier own initial response was far better than LA's. But it is wicked politics to hinder the Federal response and then claim they are not doing enough.

Bush did the paperwork to declare the area a National Disaster Area from Crawford before the storm. Why couldn't the Democrats? Why is it when FL has a Republican governor the paper work requesting Federal Aid goes in right away?
