The nattering nabobs used to say that the right-track/wrong-track polls were the most significant. Even though Bush might get a bigger pass on individual issues, dissatisfaction in general is bad for the party in power.

Of course Republicans know this and are busy blaming everything, including Katrina itself, on Dems-fems-libs-prochoicers and anything else they can find.

Dissatisfied with government? Blame the minority party! Blame those who are out of power in the government!

Unfortunately too many adults buy this inane argument and will vote accordingly. These are the same people who blame the poor in NO for not getting a limo ride outta there before Katrina hit.
