That sounds really interesting (and novel) is there anything you would care to share about the approach here or are there pointers you could recommend for ideas on this topic?

Just a few things... First, many trading systems have parameters that may be influenced by the recent volatility in a market. For those systems, I automatically have my system adjust those parameters as the market's volatility changes.

Another issue is when to turn on or off a system for live trading. I have this done automatically in my system, as it looks at recent paper trading performance and assesses which markets have 'earned' the right to be activated for live trading. Again, this is done automatically by my system, in a defined manner. I go through more details about my thoughts on this topic in the following thread: elitetrader.com
