re: Late last week, Bush was, by some accounts, down and angry. But another Bush aide described the atmosphere inside the White House as "strangely surreal and almost detached." At one meeting described by this insider, officials were oddly self-congratulatory, perhaps in an effort to buck each other up. Life inside a bunker can be strange, especially in defeat.

Good article, thanks.

They just can't accept reality. "

Reality has never been their strong point. In the past, they always managed to get the "liberal" media on their side. That doesn't appear to be working as well as in the past. Have you read this?

msnbc.msn.com;

A chilling description..........you can see how everyone played a role in the mess. The difference between Nagin and Blanco vs Bush is that the former were trying to make good decisions as quickly as possible under serious fire......whereas Bush was as detached as always and unaware of how bad things were going. His performance was SOP for him.........and in the past, that had worked for him. Not this time.
