actually the wages in NOLA are SO LOW...that $9 is the average for CONSTRUCTION WORKERS...something that wouldn't be TOLERATED in most cities in the US....
that's a lousy $360 GROSS a week!

You seem to be making the point that there isn't much skill involved in certain jobs.

Then you jump to saying my reasoning doesn't make sense. But, I don't see that you've identified any fault in my reasoning at all.

Why is it you think we should pay the unskilled poor more, to do simple jobs? I think they won't get hired nearly as often if you have your way. They'll go without work, and some will wind up looting instead, indeed.
