JF, But in a way your are right... it's not his fault that he was offered a hugely important functional job when his only qualification was a college roommate of a political operative.

Well it's not like Mike Brown was dragged kicking and screaming into the position, either.

re: I feel almost sorry for Brown. I really think he thought he was doing it right.

I feel a bit more sorry for his victims.

Yes. In no way was I suggesting that I felt more sorry for Brown than I did the hurricane victims. If I had, I would hear from Harris for the next three months.

But in a way your are right... it's not his fault that he was offered a hugely important functional job when his only qualification was a college roommate of a political operative. That fault lies elsewhere.

Yes, I don't think judging judges who judge horses begins to match the complexity and difficulty of running FEMA. It shows how cynically the Bush administration viewed FEMA.

And when you think about it.......wasn't the development of Homeland Security a key plank of the Bush administration? Homeland Security was to protect us from terrorists while FEMA would help us recover. In reality, they have became the dumping ground for all the political favors he owes, putting into place people who were incapable of doing the job. And it shows.......the airports are barely safer than they were in 9/11. It shows you how committed they are to the war on terror and national security. I can't believe how much they betrayed the trust of a nation.
