What ARE we afraid of?

truthandpolitics.org

THIS year, we're spending more than the rest of the world COMBINED on the military. Who looks like they want to conquer the world?

Scary, huh? Kind of shows how we fight our wars on the one hand and then fund our worst enemies and sell them arms on the other. It's like a military-industrial complex gone mad. I'd say that is a conspiracy theory, except it's all true. Then Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Wolfowitz changed the game a bit. Instead of pretending that it doesn't happen, they just dropped the veil and pointed out to the world that they don't care if everyone knows it is happening. Instead, they rub it in our faces and say, "We don't care if you know, because there is nothing you can do about it for 3 more years. And since we are smarter than you, we have CYA plans in place at every level, so you can never prosecute us after we're out of power."

Its very frustrating. Bush made it very clear who he sees as his constituency and he has catered to them ever since he got into office. And yet many people got fooled by his 'every man' veneer. It was CJ who pointed out that the guy didn't even have a TX accent when he first ran there in the early '90s. Rove's marketing turned him into a popular politician.

And you wonder why I am angry at Bush. Its his natural affability and the Rove marketing that made it possible for like Cheney and Rummy to get into the gov't and mess with it. People like they would never get elected into office on their own. They are angry men who people usually don't like from the get go. So I feel that Bush has enabled them in a way that has hurt in this country in spades. I wish there was a way to remove them before they do more damage.
