IT's the taste of freedom....once they have it....it's wonderful for both parties...but...if they try to get too much too fast...and you pull in the reins....they fight like thier lives are threatened......

the good part is ....as they mature and see that freedom comes with all the rest of the stuff life offers, including the associated costs....they learn that they better think thier way through.

my problem is I have a very low tolerance for watching growing pains....so I try to preempt all of her future nasty discoveries.....and she doesn't want to hear it.

I do think that if you have more than one child.....it's easier since the 2nd child will see the learning curve and this can give you some peace.
