Last timber cutting quote/offer I got prompted me to tell the buyer that I could probably do better selling firewood. Maybe I was right. $70 per pickup load delivered, equals about 1/4 cord of actual split wood loosely stacked (lol), two cords per 80 year old white oak and poplar, 10 mature trees per acre....... $560 a tree x 10 = $5600 acre? Less $2000 cash to the illegal immigrant labor per tree. $3600 net. Sure beats the $800 per acre the timber buyer offered.
