I was just speaking with one of my neighbors. Her husband is with the US Forest Service and is part of a 50-person emergency response team. He and his team were dispatched to Baton Rouge to help with the relief effort and they are... Sitting around with nothing to do. My neighbor tells me that her husband reports that there is no organization in place that can make use of his team's services. Simply put, they are sitting on their asses because no one has managed to put together a program to put people to work. Unforgivable, IMO, simply unforgivable.
