Fox News in Ratings Free Fall

Here's something you won't hear on Fox News -- ratings for the cable news channel have been plummeting since before the November election.

According to TV Newser, the number of people watching Fox during prime time in the 25 to 54 age bracket dropped in April for the sixth straight month.

9-9-05 -- Nielson Cable News Ratings for August 2005.

For the month of August 2005 the O'Reilly Factor averaged a 2.2 rating with an average of 2.5 million viewers a night.

Greta was #2 with a 2.0 rating and an average of 2.2 million viewers a night.

8-15-05 -- Nielson Cable News Ratings for July 2005.

The factor averaged a 2.1 rating for July of 2005, that is up 0.1 from his June average of 2.0. He averaged 2,370,000 million viewers a night for July of 2005.

Greta was #2 with a 2.0 rating and 2,158,000 viewers a night average for July of 2005. She is very close to beating him, watch out O'Reilly.

Since October of 2004 the O'Reilly factor ratings have dropped from a monthly average of 3.1 to a monthly average of 1.7 in May of 2005. This all started in October after the O'Reilly phone sex scandal with Andrea Mackris.

The Factor had a slight rebound in June with a 2.0 rating average.
