I'm curious to know how that is easily determined 40 years after the fact. It's not a new story! And I am not new to the story either! There have been many news articles, essays, books, movies and TV specials about Lenny Bruce over the decades. As for "the liberals" defending Bruce -- I doubt that precisely the same people who defended Bruce now wish to prosecute other for using similar language. If you have cable, you can hear and see far more sexual explicitness in your living room, as well as the corner newsstand.
