I am afraid it has been several decades--okay, almost five really--since I read Black Beauty. I do remember what I did this morning, most of it anyway, but not whether Black Beauty was an animal rights book (unfortunately). I think it is lovely that you are reading it to her, and I hope that in the not too distant future I will have a grandchild to read it to, as well. How wonderful that your daughter is a vegetarian, and that you are giving her the space to be who she is, to develop the values that reflect her personality and spirit. You must be a great and sensitive dad, Kid!
