The quality of almost everything made in China is low. Low-priced clothing or furniture isn't cheap if you have to replace it every year. And a car isn't cheap if you die because of inadequate safety features.

Chinese "oak" office furniture I purchased last Winter

A lot of brand name furnitures are built in China, including Ethan Allen, etc. You have to stick to brand names. Otherwise, you get low quality stuff.
