I do agree that Kerry, and to some extent Gore, were insipid candidates. Democrats have to veer away from the DLC, which essentially is trying to be Republican Lite. And that just doesn't work.

The only exceptional case was Bill Clinton, but his win was purely due to his personal charisma, and in spite of the DLC and not because of it.
