I said 'income'... not 'transfers'.

And, if it's necessary politically to get a true Flat Tax system actually enacted (and all those loopholes from the bad old system repealed), to exempt the first X$ amount of income (as they do with their flat tax systems in Russia, Slovakia, the new one in Poland, etc., etc.) from the tax... so that all those Dems won't be able to yell 'Class Warfare' and stop the reform, then I'm OK with that small and reasonable adjustment to reflect political reality.

(After all, the poor really do pay a much higher percentage of their total income out in sales taxes then the wealthier among us do... so it all comes out in the wash as it were.)

The important things are the REFORM, the flat rate applied to all income (regardless of government fancy), and the loophole and 'special tax preference' elimination.
