I thought the 9/11 fund was a mistake. Not because of this, although this is part of it, but because it didn't make much sense. While tragic that they lost a family member, there wasn't a fund for some poor smuck who gets shot during a holdup. Even if it had happened 6 blocks away from the WTC at the time they fell...

It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury. From that time on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the results that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.


You need to pass this one to the GOP senator of ALA, J. Sessions. He sees the allocation of $62 billion as just the beginning of the fed's largesse towards the Gulf coast.

What is wrong with you people? Have you never lived on a budget? The GOP needs to be disbanded before it breaks the country.
