we really need an overhaul, health care of all kinds costs on a per capita basis almost $5.300 dollars a year in the usa compared to top ten first world per capita cost of $2,900 . and the usa health statistics are much worse than the rest of the top ten countries . We know it is primarily because of two reasons the crappy administration by insurance companies and the fact that many people -46 M. - do not have health care insurANCE and many of the rest , probably another 45 M. or so, have second rate policies. This means that they wait until in a crisis and then spend all their cash or go on an expensive dole. Read the 9/12 new yorker or perhaps it was in a slightly earlier issue for more on this. We need most just what the people running the health systen fear; universal health care. PS A very major reason why many factories and jobs are leaving the USA is because of health care costs; GM is building most of its factories in county's which have universal health care and not building in the us for one major non-market reason. HEALTH CARE COSTS BORN BY GM ARE A MAJOR REASON!!!!!!!!!! (toyota can still build factories here because they hire new workers and do not have to pay as much for health care as a consequence.) Do we want to drive out business by unequal health insurance costs or have all pay the same and be on an equal footing with other first world countries and build in promotive health and preventive health into the system; the latter is the way to go!!!!!
