07:54 SNDK SanDisk: NAND pricing continues to be steady - UBS (43.25 )

UBS notes that the NAND spot market continues to be stable, with checks suggesting tight supply conditions in many areas. Firm believes this is due to retail flash card and MP3 player discounting, strength in higher megapixel digital still camera markets, and new drivers such as the iPod nano and Motorola ROKR cell phone. Firm's checks suggest SanDisk could have its own 4GB MP3 player coming soon. Likely positive catalysts for SNDK in coming months include a CTIA announcement Sept 27, further NAND-based 3G cellphone introductions, the launch of its own 4GB or higher MP3 player, upside to the $0.35 Q3 consensus est (and possibly even firm's $0.39 est), and greater appreciation of the SNDK royalty potential. Maintains Neutral and $45 tgt.
