The only logical guess I have is Iran and North Korea wants to bargain/blackmail the US and other countries into paying them off. No different than ted here complaining all the time about "there's going to be a civil war if"... ted can't back up his rhetoric, the question is can Iran?

I think its more than that. The Iranians are showing they can stand up to the Americans with impunity. I don't think its their most brilliant move but I suspect they are still smarting from the heavy handed treatment they got from us in the 1980s. The worm has turned and they are taking advantage of Bush's ineptness.

International diplomacy is a complicated and sophisticated game that can frustrate even the most clever player. Bush and company have no business playing that game.......they were not up to the task.
