JF, What do they think of our presence?

There is a political polarization, just like around here, where the conservative older generation wants America to stay while the liberal younger generation wants America to get out. The latter is the majority, and the current president Roh Moo-Hyun was elected on such an anti-America ticket.

However, Roh has backed away from his rhetoric since taking office, because he realizes that South Korea needs America to stay more than America needs to stay in South Korea. Many of his supporters obviously feel very betrayed by this.
