Delta and Northwest Airlines bonds trade like hot cakes ! .

"Northwest's 10-percent notes due in 2009 rose to 23 cents on the dollar, compared to 22.5 cents on the dollar on Wednesday. Last week, the issue was trading at 34.5 cents on the dollar.

The issue was the most-actively traded in the high-yield market, with volume among institutional investors at about $320 million, according to data provided by MarketAxess. The issue traded within a range of 22.8 cents to 25.2 cents.

Delta's 8.3-percent bond due 2029 rose to 17.2 cents on the dollar, compared with Wednesday's close of 16.75 cents. Last week, the bond traded at 14.14 cents on the dollar.

The issue was the second most-actively traded in the high-yield market, with volume among institutional investors at about $264.4 million on the day...."
