Gus > White South Africans didn't offer Mandela and his black constituency a Gaza-like Bantustan to set up his "independent state", nor did they keep South Africa's capital for whites only. The bantustan policy had failed and anyway Mandela wouldn't have agreed to it. Change had to bring black majority rule for it to be acceptable, not more divide-and-rule tricks. One day it will also come in Israel/Palestine but it will take a lot longer and there will still be a lot more bloodshed. It's only when the Israelis realize for once and for all that there is no alternative to real democracy that peace is possible. But that will mean having to give up all the Biblical fairy stories and other fantasies. But, anyway, the longer the Israelis take to "bite the bullet" and give up the occupied territories, the more the forces of demography will supervene until in the end there will be so few Jews left that anything the Israelis want will be irrelevant.
