Here's my solution:
1) It's time to publish a timetable for leaving Iraq. I used to think this was a bad idea, but this will put huge pressure on the Iraqi gov't to step up. I say, pull them out evenly until they are all gone by mid-2006. That's plenty of time for the Iraqis to take over completely.
2) We need to rebuild New Orleans and the levees. No question.
3) Leave all the tax cuts for the middle class and poor in place and make them permanent. Get rid of the AMT completely. Get rid of inheritance taxes completely. People should be able to pass on their wealth. To pay for it all, create a new 40% bracket for people that make $500K-$1M in gross income per year. Create another 55% bracket for people who make over $1M per year. Those two new brackets will pay for all the rest. Let's force the rich to give back in big way and resurrect the middle class, while giving the poor a break.
