The list is long but let start and finish it with just one, oil. And that question is NOT rhetorical. What have we gotten from the muslim world for the past half century? Why do we have to get anything from them? What did they get from America in the 18th century? Every civilization has its day and then declines. Our decline has just started. In hundred years, we may be a backwater and Iran the pinnacle of civilization. Art? Ask Salman Rushdie. New ideas? What innovations have come from there in technology? What are their contributions? Many of their contributions predate America. They were performing eye surgery when many of our ancestors were running around in loincloths. They have made huge contributions to the world. Besides, who said a people were supposed to contribute 24/7 if they want to continue to exist? In fact, who died and made you God?
