The issue of whether SUN has permanent differentation is not relevant to me. The issue is whether its earnings are growing with sufficient transparency that the market is able reasonably to put a price on its future.

I think it is moving in the right direction with its full-hearted adoption of Opteron and its openness to all O/S (even if some are still more equal than others).

If it grows earnings and wins increasing mind-share, surely it is just as capable as other companies at adapting existing technology or EOL it, and making all other necessary adjustments.

The past is over.
