Re: "Because of past policies of its leaders this country held the lead in areas such as high tech..."

Evidence shows that a hands-off highly constitutional non-intervention is to credit.

Re: "The nation progressed overall, the national wealth increased, and with it there was prosperity. There was nothing called the poor since jobs were a plenty."

This plainly never happened in the U.S. yet. It IS a fantasy history, as you surely must see.

Re: "This gave rise to the new economy which peaked during the Clinton era."

There were poor at the peak of the Clinton era, of course. The cause of the, oh, 16 year run of relative prosperity may not be Clinton at all, but the far more significant tax code restructuring of Reagan, or barring that, simply our technological advancement in general, thanks to the U.S. being the relatively free country it is.

Re: "And you are talking about corporations hiring people here, US citizens, at wages which are nothing near what is being payed to workers in India and China."

That would seem to be blatantly wrong, and I believe all can see it, yet should you believe in some relative scale under which you might make this assessment, it is still a moot point, as there is no rule, moral or otherwise, which demands we shouldn't allow our businesses to pay less than businesses in China pay its workers.

Re: "How can both these systems prosper whereas ours is on the decline."

We aren't horribly declining, and they aren't so terribly prosperous. We certainly should applaud their improvement. Even when elements of Freedom are introduced into an otherwise Communist Dictatorship, it helps.

I must add here again, that nothing here answers to my point at all, and until you can do that, you'll not change my mind as to what is best for the little guy.

Re: "Let us sit back and ponder, political rhetoric aside. Just for the love of the U.S. of A."

Done.
