Thanks for the feedback, Mike. You and Karen are doing a wonderful job. What is really nice to hear is that there are hundreds of folks like you doing the same thing. The "person to person" really works. Outfits like the Red Cross help, but they are huge, slow moving bureaucracies that have to document everything and worry about their liability.

The constant stories I read say that the large organizations are slow and say "no" too much. In fairness, I think the reason is the liabilty they face. We have seen this with Doctors and other medical personnel who move in to help and are turned away. The Governor of the various states has to issue a waiver in order for outside medical people to be used.

If someone in officialdom uses outsiders without total checkouts, and they screw up, the people who were hurt will sue the bureaucrats who recommended these people and win. So the bureaucrat could put his job in danger and have to come up with ten grand for a lawyer if he sticks his/her neck out and it blows up on him.

This was a wonderful report. I am so happy you are able to do this much good.
