From what I'm reading, right now the Japanese are interested in exploiting cheap Chinese labor, and the Chinese are interested in Japanese investment - pretty much the same as with us. In twenty or thirty years, the Chinese may want more than just investment, but for now, they seem mostly interested in economic growth. Except for a few "Dr. Strangelove"-type generals that is.

It's time for the Japanese to pay for their own defense. WW II has long been over, and they're our friends and allies now. I can't think of another country I'd trust MORE with nukes than the one country that has directly felt their affects.
