oh yeah. You know I haven't heard anything at all about the impending bloodbath of RIFs coming out of Siebel, which is very strange because we all know what the Peoplesoft merger caused in terms of heartache for the employees.

My only explanation is that Siebel was always a bad place to work, requiring suits and not much timeoff, a very "oracle like" climate. But people stayed there for the riches which were immense because like Oracle, Tom owned most of the company and he could dole out stock to whoever he felt like. In the early days anybody could have traded in salary for stock at a $2/1 share option rate. Thats for secretaries, file clerks, anybody. How many companies do that... none. Anyway people got rich at Sebl but other than that, there is no love for the company like the Duffield/PSFT feelings. Also the job climate has picked up. Maybe the staff left at Siebel is just going to wait for their RIF package and move on.
