Considering your "unique, elite, unchallenged talents", I'm sure you can achieve your goal of "living life without pretension".

Tim - Welcome back! Sounds like the vacation did its trick. Good for you.

Sounds like you are a transplant to the EC?

chasing the "FINANCIALLY SECURE AMERICAN DREAM" has lost it's luster, passion and intrigue due to the physical and mental cost imposed on the seeker.

As a transplant myself, I can tell you...IF 'you're not from around here' then YES the EC will grind you down. Not wrong or bad, just the way things developed out here.

I admire your willingness to even consider ripping up and moving. If you are looking for real estate, ran across this article the other day that you might find interesting. Certainly would be a good time to sell a house on the EC!

Scroll down and look at the charts. There is a figure, I think it is page 12 that shows the 'hot' bubble areas. Interestingly it has a loose corelation to "red" states and 'blue' states.
