The diet I was fed when growing up was very high in simple carbohidrates and low in cholesterol. It was as well balanced as the state of the knowledge at the time. It helps that both parents also had low cholesterol. I suspect it was genetics. I also enjoy eating Salmon which contains EPA, a HDL promoting fat found primarily in Salmon and Mackeral in nature.

My sedentaryness has increased to the point that I have some concerns about my own health. It is getting to be time to go back to the Haas diet* and return to my excessive workout schedule. Next time around I will not quit after becoming addicted to the endorphines.

*Robert Haas MD & Dietician proposed the opposite of the Adkins diet. High in simple carbs and low in fat.
