Truth is we did win the war with the force that Rummy used, the problem was that no one in the administration foretold the after war terrorist activity. IMHO we had every reason to believe that the vast majority of Iraqi's would have IMMEDIATELY not only rejoiced at Saddams ejection, which they did, but also been capable of subduing any type of terror activity within its borders. For some reason, probably several reasons, they were not either able to or willing too. I dont think Bush EVER intended to keep a POLICE FORCE in Iraq for a long period of time. That has been the result, but I doubt it was the intent. jdn
