Definitely worth doing. I am Australian by virtue of my mother being an Australian and she hasn't been in Aus for more than 40 years!

Still I have seen recently that getting Canadian immigration status does not seem so hard, compared to legally immigrating into the US and immigrating into Aus is not hard either.

If there is risk in Canadian energy trusts, consider adding some of the US NG heavy trusts for diversity -

CRT
HGT
careful of the bid/ask spreads , sometimes wide.

and SJT (a bit more expensive)

These three have heavy NG near areas where they should get benefits from higher NG prices near the gulf area.

SJT is $46, www.mcdep.com sees $ 4.70 in distributions in next 12 months. - and that was mostly pre-Katrina.

These trusts don't have the risk of overpaying for a property that the Canadians have.

You'll need a relational database to keep track of all the nationalities?
