Wonderful article Iqbal..

Let us hope that in the coming months the Iraqis will come to the same conclusion and realize that THEY, not their corrupt or intransigent tribal leaders, hold the key to their futures.

I fear the constitution will be voted down.. And hopefully we'll take the appropriate stance of "It's their decision.. now lets go back and re-negotiate and create one that is acceptable"..

How long did it take the early American revolutionaries to finally arrive at the idea of a constitution? YEARS!!..

This takes time.. but I truly believe (and I think the polls support us) that mankind will choose freedom when given that option without coercion..

Was talking with a work associate here in Iraq and we were discussing the Iraqi people.. He related a story to me about some Iraqi farmers he was interviewing.. He asked them what they wanted out of this new government..

One responded..

"I want the government off my back..

I want a fair price for my vegetables and fruits..

And I want safety and security for my family..."

I couldn't help but notice the similarity between Iraqi farmers and American farmers... ;0)
