In the Aussie press they just reference US federal personal income tax rates and ignore:

1. State tax (up to 8%+ in extra marginal tax)

2. FICA/Social Security tax (7% + extra on first $90k - employer pays the same amount and self employed pay twice)

Then the corporate rate in the US is much higher than in Aus and there are no imputation credits etc. though long-term qualified dividends and capital gains are only now taxed at 15%.

Then if you find too many loopholes they hit you with the AMT.
